This left-handed track, much frequented by holidaymakers, is fourteen furlongs round and flat, providing a true test for long-striding horses. The straight mile joins the round course five furlongs from home.
Celebrations:There's nowhere better than The County at Aycliffe off junction 59 of the A1/M. Their chef worked at Le Manoir - so expect the best whilst you relive the day's excitement! A place to stay further south of the A19 at Osmotherley is The Golden Lion - an old stone-built pub with recently refurbished bedrooms where you can also get a decent meal (Tel: 01609 883526).
