Actionthe way a horse moves. Top racehorse trainers and bloodstock agents pay particular attention to a horse's action when buying an unraced yearling or older horse. A good walker (one who puts the back foot down in the position left by the front foot) is always said to make a good galloper too - and the best way to check whether a racehorse moves correctly is to view it from behind as it walks or trots away.
