RACING TERMS
Ageda horse aged 15 or older.Without documentary evidence the best way to check a horse's age is from its teeth. Racehorses compete on the flat from 2 years old and generally from 4 years old over jumps. Few race beyond 13 years old although there are instances of significantly aged horses still winning - including MacVidi at 15 over jumps - Lingfield Park commemorates his exploits with a race named after him.
