RACING TERMS
Collectbalanced control of the horse by its rider. Although good control is essential for any type of horse this is particularly important for showring disciplines such as dressage and showjumping where the horse needs to be precisely postioned. It's not an expression widely shared by the racing community who tend to use different phrases and descriptions for different stages of horse racing and the paces of the racehorse throughout a race.
